What We Do.
Why We’re Different.
“Mighty oaks from little acorns grow." This timeless proverb speaks to the power of a deeply nourished foundation. Just as an acorn becomes an oak when its roots, soil, and light are tended with care, children flourish when their families and environment are supported and empowered. At Acorn Roots Pediatric Collective, this belief is more than inspiration — it is the root of who we are and everything we do.
We are a growing pediatric therapy collective dedicated to helping children engage meaningfully in every part of their lives. But what makes us different is that we extend our care beyond the child. We know that milestones and growth are made possible by the strength and wellness of the whole family — so we nurture the entire system that helps children flourish, from the ground up.
Our approach is uniquely family-centered and dynamic, shaped around each child's needs and their family's values, routines, and goals. We walk alongside parents, siblings, and caregivers, weaving therapy into daily life so that growth becomes sustainable, meaningful, and lasting.
Acorn Roots was created for families who seek more than services. They seek connection, understanding, and true partnership. Here, therapy is not only about development — it is about cultivating resilience, joy, and confidence, so that families can stand tall together and every child can grow into their own mighty oak.
Who We Are.
Briana is a pediatric Doctor of occupational therapy, special needs parent, and relentless advocate who brings both professional expertise and lived experience to her work with children and families. Her path into occupational therapy began after her oldest son was diagnosed with autism and childhood apraxia of speech. What she witnessed — again and again — was that families were left without the support they needed, navigating some of the hardest moments of their lives largely alone. That gap became her mission.
She returned to school, earned her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy, and went on to complete her post-professional Doctor of Occupational Therapy. Her doctoral work focused on strengthening therapist-caregiver communication in pediatric and early intervention settings, because she believes that how we talk to families is just as important as what we do in a session.
Briana works in early intervention and pediatrics across the San Fernando Valley, including with families served through the Regional Center. She is especially passionate about supporting caregivers as whole people — not just as extensions of their child's care — and about blending evidence-based practice with the kind of honesty, humor, and humanity that families actually need.
She founded Acorn Roots because she knew there had to be a better way. There is.
